HK StarHarbour Group’s Low-Altitude UAV Project Wins Third Prize at the 2025 CAITUNHUI Science and Technology Innovation Competition

The award ceremony of the 2025 CAITUNHUI Science and Technology Innovation Competition was recently held in Kunming. Our company, having successfully advanced through the preliminary round, regional semifinals, and the grand final, stood out among 1,635 participating projects with our “Lieniao Tandem Dual-Rotor Low-Altitude UAV” project, securing third place and receiving a cash prize of RMB 200,000.

The Lieniao Tandem Dual-Rotor Low-Altitude UAV is an unmanned aerial vehicle developed by our company specifically for operations below 3,000 meters. Inspired by the Chinook helicopter principle, it features a tandem dual-rotor configuration, with one rotor mast mounted at the front and another at the rear of the fuselage. Both rotors are identical in design but rotate in opposite directions, thereby mutually counterbalancing their reaction torques.Constructed entirely from aerospace-grade carbon fiber composite materials, the aircraft enables vertical takeoff and landing under a wide range of complex meteorological conditions, forming an efficient low-altitude logistics network. Owing to its unique structural design, it demonstrates exceptional adaptability to challenging environments—including high-altitude plateaus, deserts, mountainous regions, and isolated islands—making it ideal for missions such as irregular cargo sling-load transport, battlefield support, emergency relief, and search-and-rescue operations.

According to organizers of the Caiyunhui competition, this year’s event encompassed five regional divisions: the Yangtze River Delta, the Greater Bay Area, Central China, the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, and Northwest China, attracting numerous elite participants ranging from unicorn companies and national “Specialized, Sophisticated, Distinctive, and Innovative” (SSDI) “Little Giant” enterprises to gazelle companies and academician-led research teams. Since launching the “Caiyunhui” brand in 2023, Yunnan Province has focused on addressing the developmental needs of science and technology innovation entities, broadening investment attraction channels, and upgrading incubation services. Through this competition, the province actively draws high-caliber startups and cutting-edge scientific achievements from across China to establish operations locally, thereby accelerating the high-quality development of regional technological innovation and significantly enhancing local new-quality productive capacity.
